SHOTGUN DIXIE is a six-piece, modern country band based in Central Illinois and specializes in new and classic country and country-rock. The group concentrates on hot, new country hits but mixes in a little southern rock and classic rock 'n' roll as well. The band recently signed on as the official house band for WFYR 97.3 River Country in Peoria, Illinois. The band consists of a group of seasoned musicians who have performed together for many years. There are no modern country bands in this area which can boast a bonafide fiddle specialist and which gives its own unique sound to such a wide variety of country hits.
